Mercedes Gaztambide is a reporter at CBC Toronto. She graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2022 with a Bachelor of Journalism and began her media career through a work-study position producing student recruitment content. That role sparked her interest in on-camera storytelling and led to opportunities in both digital and broadcast media.
In 2020, she became blogTO’s first TikTok host and producer, helping grow the outlet’s reach with original, youth-focused content. She later joined CBC to host and edit the reboot of Street Cents, a financial literacy show for teens. She has hosted live award shows, co-hosted CBC Marketplace, earned a Webby nomination, won a Kidscreen Award, and worked as a producer at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Mercedes combines storytelling, education, and authentic connection to inspire the next generation of journalists and creatives. She hopes to empower others to embrace curiosity, take risks, and tell stories that matter.

Dr. Seung Hwan (Mark) Lee is a Professor and Associate Dean at the Ted Rogers School of Management, Toronto Metropolitan University. An award-winning scholar, educator, and thought leader, he is recognized for his expertise in consumer behavior, marketing, and the impact of technology on retail strategy. His research spans AI in banking, virtual fashion, influencer marketing, and retail innovation. A former Editor-in-Chief of Marketing Education Review, Dr. Lee has shaped thought leadership in marketing education. He is a recipient of the TMU Chancellor’s Award of Distinction, the university’s highest teaching honor, recognizing a life-long commitment to teaching and learning excellence. As a member of the Speakers Bureau of Canada, he shares insights on digital transformation and the future of marketing, inspiring the next generation of business leaders.

Taylor Patterson is a multi-hyphenate artist based in Toronto with a focus in film production, writing, and video creation. Most notably recognized as 'the blogTO guy', Taylor spends his time hosting and producing content for Toronto's best-known local news publication. His three years at blogTO have given him the opportunity to create content with millions of views, interview notable artists like Nicholas Cage, Timothée Chalamet, Ben Stiller, Jordan Peele, and more, and most importantly serve the city by sharing stories that resonate with millions of Torontonians. When he's not touring Toronto, he's creating videos as a Canon Creator or hosting Oasis House events/parties across the city. One of Taylor's biggest passions is contributing to the creative community, and he does so by hosting the mentorship program and sitting as a committee member at the Soho House Toronto.
