Theme: The Roles of The Civil Society in Syria

In this TEDx Salon event held in Damascus, participants explored “The Roles of the Civil Society in Syria.” The gathering brought together 3 speakers, local thinkers, activists, and professionals to discuss how civil society can contribute to resilience, social development, and rebuilding in challenging times. Through talks and dialogue, the event highlighted grassroots initiatives and the importance of civic engagement in shaping Syria’s future.

Abdullah Al Jaddan

activist and trainer

Abdullah holds a Master's degree in Population and Development Studies and he is an activist in public affairs issues. He is a trainer and developer of training programs on the topics of youth education, gender and women's empowerment with several international and local entities.

Muhammad El Masri

Researcher

Researcher in political economy and Syrian civil society issues, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance,and a Master's of Business Administration.

Nesrin Alaa Eddin

civil activist

Nisren is civil activist with experience coordinating programs within local and international organizations, she has worked in preparing local radio programs and writing investigative reports for several Syrian and Arab newspapers, in addition to designing humanitarian intervention programs and facilitating community dialogue in cooperation with the European Union.
