In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Chrystel Chahine

Student
I’m Crystel Chahine, an IB1 student, and just a normal person who faces the daily ups and downs. I decided to take those downs and turn them into something positive. This talk is all about shifting from FOMO to JOMO and finding peace when we’re left out.

Clara Naoum

G 11 Student
I’m giving this talk because, for years, I thought my worst personality trait was something to fix until I realized it was my secret weapon. We spend so much time trying to “improve” ourselves that we miss the superpowers hiding in our so-called flaws. This talk is for anyone who’s ever been told they’re “too much” of something too stubborn, too anxious, too impulsive. What if that thing wasn’t a weakness but the key to your greatest strength? By the end of this talk, you’ll not only see yourself differently but also walk away with a new way to harness what you thought was holding you back."

Ely Boulos

This TED talk explores the power of stepping out of our comfort zones and embracing the opportunity to go solo. I share personal experiences such as a Model United Nations conference, to challenge the idea that we need others to validate our choices. I hope to inspire the audience to break free from societal expectations and take bold steps on their own, showing how moments of solitude can lead to personal growth, stronger connections, and the achievement of our fullest potential.

Kristy Saad

IB Student
IB1 student whose curiosity about the mind and body fuels her passion for both Biology and Psychology. But it’s not just textbooks and theories that drive Kristy—she’s on a mission to tackle one of the biggest challenges of our time: how constant digital connectivity impacts our well-being. In her TEDx talk, “The Value of Unplugging in a Hyperconnected World,” Kristy explores the hidden costs of being always ‘on,’ from distraction and anxiety to fractured relationships. Drawing from both personal experience and scientific research, Kristy challenges us to rethink our relationship with technology and discover the profound benefits of stepping away from the screen. Through her compelling message, Kristy invites us all to find balance in a world that’s always online, and reclaim moments of true connection and peace.

As a person I've noticed that everything I get, I always imagine what I would be to have the opposite: it could be about things I buy, bout the specific decisions I've made, the personality of the friends I choose, about relationships. So I decided to choose this topic and talk about the psychological reasons that a person tends to crave the opposite of what they have, or the reasons that they crave for they opposite of who they are (when it comes to social life), including the concept of "opposite attract". so I'll be presenting some known experiments that explains the subject, and I also wanted to include a small stimulation of my own but I still haven't exactly what it will be yet.
