Turčianske Teplice, Žilinský kraj
Slovakia

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Dominika Fričová is a neurobiologist focused on the study of dopamine – the molecule that shapes our motivation, joy, and movement. Her research centers on neurodegenerative disorders, particularly Parkinson’s disease, and how disruptions in the dopamine system affect everyday life. Her work focuses on restoring dignity, amplifying unheard voices, and challenging the stereotypes that surround life on the margins. Through storytelling, advocacy, and systemic insight, she reminds us that being without a home doesn’t mean being without worth. At TEDx, she invites us to look beyond appearances — and to recognize the full humanity in every world we pass by.

Norbert Werner

Astrophysicist
Norbert Werner is an award-winning astrophysicist who studies the vast structures of the universe — galaxy clusters, cosmic filaments, and the invisible forces that shape the cosmos. His work helps us understand not just where we are in the universe, but how everything is connected by matter we cannot even see. Through international research and public outreach, he brings the mysteries of space closer to Earth. At TEDx, he invites us to look up — and reflect on what the universe teaches us about perspective, wonder, and belonging.

At TEDx, he invites us to consider: What happens when we don’t just watch a story — but see ourselves in it?

Robert Krause

Neuropsychologist
Robert Krause is a neuropsychologist and mental coach who explores how our minds construct reality. His work focuses on cognitive biases – the invisible mental shortcuts that shape how we see the world, make decisions, and relate to others. Through a combination of psychology, neuroscience, and personal insight, he helps people better understand their own thinking patterns and unlock greater clarity, self-awareness, and connection. At TEDx, he invites us to reflect on one crucial question: What if the way we see the world is not the world itself?

Zuzana Kúkelová is a leading researcher in the field of computer vision — teaching machines how to see, understand, and navigate the physical world. Her work has applications in robotics, autonomous vehicles, and artificial intelligence, but at its core, it asks a profound question: what does it mean to truly “see”?
